Habits are Vital for Success

There’s one thing that I want to talk about today, which I think is so important. And that’s, that’s creating a habit out of something. Now, if we don’t get interrupted by my daughter, I can go through this right baby. So she knows that I’m busy right now. So she just loves my 17 months, but she can figure that out for her. So I want to talk a bit about habit and how important it is. And it takes about 23 days to get in the habit, if something’s not a habit, it’s going to be too difficult, because you need many, many habits in order to be very successful in business.

If you haven’t developed your skill into a habit, then you’re not going to be able to get very far, for a lot of reasons. I mean, it might take you longer, you might be able to do it, but it’s gonna be a lot more. And it wasn’t until I started creating these habits and took about 23 days to do it, that I was able to compound the habits. And when I had, when I had to do 20 different things at once. It’s, it was so frustrating. So frustrating having 20 different things to do at once, that I needed to make each one of those things into a habit, though making those into a habit, then it became impossible to be able to make any progress with anything. And so the first step is, is identifying those things that you need to do. But then the hard part is doing it every single day. Like for example, getting up at 5am.

Obviously, you need to go to bed earlier in order for you not to be too unhappy about getting up at 5am. But you also need to be doing it every single day, because then it’ll just come naturally. Now if I go to bed at 12 o’clock, sometimes midnight, even sometimes I’m still getting up at 5am, because my body’s just programmed to do that. And it’s just one example. And when you go in jog, when you go jogging every day, your body just craves that and kind of wants to do that, because that habit mode, and it goes into a different part of the brain. And when that different part of the brain starts stress doing these things, then it becomes a lot easier.

So if you have 20 different habits that you need to have 20 different things that you need to have, in order to become successful in order to achieve the goals that you want to achieve. making those 20 things into a habit is pretty much the only way. Because if you’re constantly retraining yourself every day to do certain things, or to program yourself to get up at 5am. Or to go on a job or to you know, even answering emails or just imagine like how much did how much difficulty it would be to speak in a different language and language that you don’t know you’re going to be spending not just a day where you can be spending years just drove a language. But if you get to the point where it’s habitual, where it just kind of flows off the top of your head, where you’re not even thinking about the words or how to say them, you think of the thoughts and ideas come out, that’s when you’re able to accomplish a lot more or even walking, or even anything like even breathing into your your that’s instinct here, you trained to do that, but or that’s instinctual how you do that. But if it’s something such as walking, even, you have to learn how to do that. And then if you practice it everyday, it becomes a habit. And once you have many of these habits in your life, then you’re going to be able to accomplish a lot of things without making it a habit is very difficult.

And I was talking to my wife the other day about how structured she’s not a very structured person, some people don’t like structure, they’re adverse to it because they get bored in the routine. And you know, maybe that’s true for even entrepreneurs who are having to be in a structured environment in order to achieve a lot. But the fact of the matter is that if you’re going to be successful, you have to be structured. And in order to be structured, this is what creates the habits. So to create the habits, you have to have consistency. I’m not saying every single day of the week, for the rest of your life and for 365 days a year

are perhaps trying something new, something you might want to develop into a habit later, you’re still allowed to do that. But if I wanted to create a new kind of skill in my life, I wouldn’t be doing a habit. And and I would be doing it every single day. 23 days, if you if you start out running, and you can’t run anymore, it’s becoming too difficult thing, just keep doing it. You keep adding, keep adding and keep at it until 23 days later, 23 days of jogging steadily, like four or five times a week, after three to four weeks, you’re going to start feeling like you have to go for a jog, your body’s going to be programmed, it’s going to want to go and it’s going to keep it’s going to keep fighting and it’s going to keep wanting to do these things.

And this is what’s necessary in order to be in a position where you’re going to be doing things that are habitual, where it’s easy, or some people look at me and they think how the hell does he do all that? How does he run six businesses and how does he keep on going and a lot of things a lot of nation but a lot of it is a habit. I don’t have to spend many many hours at it because I’ve automated the tasks but for me it’s I thought a lot more difficult to do things tend to get anything done to be successful until I start creating things that will have it and so that’s what I’ve pretty much done and and that’s how I’m able to do the things

I’m able to do which is run six businesses run a lot Growth circle and other businesses as well. And so it’s understanding what you need to do in the long run medium term in the short term, breaking it down, and how do you get there, and seeing those things that you need to do for me, like I have a family. And if I didn’t get up at 5am, to get things done and get out of the house, by the time my family got up, and it was gonna be a lot more difficult to get things done. You know, if I have the baby running around, like today, I didn’t get time to do what I’m doing now until there’s my baby came and interrupted me what I’m doing what I’m doing.

So that’s why I had to form the habit of getting into planning and by getting from 5am, having those habits, clear in your head, of visualizing, doing affirmations, and all of these different things. And it becomes when it becomes a habit, then you’re going to be on a regular password, you’re going to be making a lot more progress because when things are individual, they become automatic, and you don’t need to worry too much about like figuring things out how to do things. So that’s my tip for today. I’m on this journey together with you guys. I’m learning constantly myself and I just wanted to share that with you to let you know what’s been working for me.
